At Beachwood Middle School, we are dedicated to fostering an environment where every student can thrive. Our school counseling department is here to support your child’s journey toward academic success, emotional well-being, and personal growth.
Our Mission
The mission of the Beachwood Middle School counseling department is to empower all students to reach their full potential within a safe and affirming learning environment. Through comprehensive programming, personalized support, and student-focused collaboration, we lay the foundation for student success. We are committed to preparing all students for a global future by focusing on career readiness, academic achievement, and healthy social-emotional development.
A school counselor is an educator who:
- Advocates for student needs
- Provides individual and small-group counseling
- Works with school staff and families to provide helpful suggestions and support
- Provides classroom guidance for every class
- Helps in identifying academic and social/emotional needs of children
- Helps children understand themselves and others
- Provides information on community resources that benefit students
- Makes referrals to outside agencies
- Provides parents with resources and information
